College Access Plan
Building the leadership pipeline by designing an annual report for College Access Plan.
College Access Plan prepares underserved students to succeed in college. Founded in 2006 by Kathleen Parent, a high school teacher, and Mo Hyman, a college instructor, College Access Plan’s core belief is that all students, regardless of socio-economics, geography, or background, have the right to equal access to a college education.
When people say design is just decoration and not relevant, I think about the work for CAP. Maybe the annual report will help persuade a donor to give more. Or make it easier for someone to be the first person in his or her family to go to college and do great things. When I decided to move onto a different track and do work to help others, this is exactly the kind of project I hoped to do.
verynice was honored to collaborate with Sean Adams of The Burning Settler’s Cabin in order to produce an annual report for College Access Plan, pro-bono. The report is a timeless, yet timely, design artifact that constituents can cherish and leverage as a reflection point for all of the amazing accomplishments that College Access Plan has catalyzed.
This report is a perfect example of design’s ability to inspire and inform. Working with Typecraft, we were able to see the project through from the screen to the tactile, a souvenir of the College Access Plan’s commitment to serving the youth. Thanks to the design work of Sean Adams, this beautiful annual report successfully highlights the organization’s work to help students navigate the college admissions process.
