There's a reason the Hardell family lives so far out of town: they don't want company. When a mismatched group of high school kids trespasses on the Hardell ranch to drink beer and skinny dip, they learn this lesson the hard way.
After completing the designs for MTV New Media's identity and website, we won a big proposal and were hired by MTV Networks to create the visual identity and marketing campaign for their latest horror film, Savage County.
The iphone and ipad app for the Savage County campaign utilized the apple's built in camera and/or photo album to allow the users to put themselves into the poster by adding blood splatters and a weapon of choice to their portrait.
We built the website using wordpress to serve as a hub for the entire campaign, revealing video clips, film stills, giveaways, etc.
When asked to create a poster for the film, we sat back and thought: "What would be the most horrific poster we could ever make?" - and then it hit us: the poster had to be created out of human blood. We were responsible for art direction and the design of the composition for the following poster, painted by artist Vincent Castiglia, in his own blood.

MyDigiStory is a non-profit organization which gives a voice to the most vulnerable, affected, and marginalized youth around the world. Through a series of unique hands-on workshops, students create their own digital stories through the filmmaking process stemming from personal narratives created through the writing process. These youth-produced digital stories are then shared with the word through the mydigistory social network and other media outlets.
a verynice design studio was approached by MyDigiStory with the task of creating a cohesive brand identity that could be used across several platforms including video, print, and web. We decided to play with the form of camcorders and filmstrips for the identity.

The UCLA GAME LAB fosters the production of computer games and game related research. The lab supports exploration of these areas of focus: Game Aesthetics through experimentation in the look, sound, language and tactility of games; Game Context through development of games that involve the body, interface, physical space and performance in new ways; and Game Genres through examination of the socio-historic-political discourse around games and the development of new game genres that challenge the presently accepted boundaries of gaming.
a verynice design studio was approached by the UCLA Game Lab to create the brand identity and online presence for the lab. Our goal was to create one of the most distracting and eye-bleeding experiences on the web. Thanks to a collaboration with Russian Pixel artist, Megapont, I think we succeeded.
Every Woman Foundation is a non-profit organization in the women's health sector providing opportunity and treatment to low-income women in the Florida area that can not afford crucial medical treatments.
When a verynice design studio was approached by the foundation, we were ecstatic at the opportunity to innovate within this sector. A lot of women's foundations limit their reach by crafting an identity that speaks solely to the female demographic. In order to engage a nation-wide audience in openness to both learn about and support a cause as crucial as this, we conceived of a gender-neutral identity.

YLA is a non-profit organization that fosters leadership and networking among high school students. Over the past seven years we have been connecting students with civic, business, and community leaders. Some of the notable organizations with which we collaborate include the City of Anaheim, Hilton Anaheim and the Disneyland Resort.
a verynice design studio was brought on to YLA in 2009 in order to re-design the organization's corporate structure / business model to include a marketing division. Little by little, we built a team for the organization, and have continued to manage all Marketing efforts since. Since coming on board, we have successfully launched a new brand, website, marketing strategy, viral & guerilla promotion efforts, multiple events, a social media integration, and more. This project launched our business design sector which has since founded new divisions through the design of corporate systems within non-profit organizations around the world.
The new brand's goal was to create a visual identity for the organization that could attract both high school students, and business professionals. The result was a dynamic identity that was designed to be flexible in the sense that the typography is modular and the colors are interchangeable. This helped to create a brand that is both fresh and professional.
The website utilizes many features to help the non-profit grow. These features include an video blog for students to give other students advice, student associate profiles to help create a sustainable network of alumni with current students, and of course a blog.
This mini-documentary was created to tell the story of how YLA came to be as well as to give a more in-depth look into the two founders of the organization.
